Midway Motors in Kansas has completed the acquisition of the Hambelton LaGreca Chevrolet- Pontiac dealership in Hutchinson, adding another location to our expanding family of McPherson-based dealerships. The new acquisition extends our reach into Hutchinson and Wichita. We are pleased to inform Hutchinson residents that we will offer nearly twice the amount of cars as the original Hambelton dealership.
Glenn Hoover and the Midway Motors family have steadily continued to infiltrate the McPherson area since 1991, expanding their presence to now include multiple cities. In 1995, Hoover bought a dealership in Beloit, though he then sold it to its longtime manager a few years ago. In 2006, Midway Motors purchased Lacy Motors in McPherson, and in 2008, bought out Irv Schroeder’s GM dealership in Hillsboro.
Many Kansas dealers, along with much of the country, are facing steep declines in business since the nation has been battling its worst recession. However, we have always tried to remain positive and look at the recession with optimism. Our leader, Glenn Hoover states, “I do look at the recession as an opportunity for the auto industry. We’ve had a very minor decline in business and it gave us the opportunity for expansion. We have complete confidence that the American auto industry will be back full-steam.”
“We are proud and excited to have the opportunity to serve our Hutchinson customer base with a store in Hutch,” said Hoover.
Stay tuned for more grand opening news!

Midway Motors has just opened a new Chevrolet dealership in Hutchinson Kansas.
The Glenn Hoover family, owners of Midway Motors of McPherson, announced the purchase of Hambleton LaGreca Chevrolet Pontiac, 1200 E. 30th Ave.
The purchase will increase the size of Midway’s business by about 30 percent, said company president and founder Glenn Hoover, who has been involved in car sales since 1978.
The company immediately increased employment at the Hutchinson store from 29 to 42 people, Hoover said, with expectation that it would grow further.
It also named Danny Flynn, a lifetime Hutchinson resident who had been managing Midway’s Hillsboro dealership the past 14 months, as general manager of the Hutchinson store.
The dealership will honor existing warranties from Hambelton LaGreca, including its Super Saver Program offering lifetime oil changes, Hoover said.
Combined with the dealerships Midway Motors has in McPherson and Hillsboro – where plans for new showrooms in both towns are under way – the company now offers every American make of car, Hoover said.
Combined, the company now employs 150 people. It has more than 200 new and 300 used vehicles in stock, and anticipates sales of about 300 new and used vehicles each month.
